Job summary

Circle Reading Hospital, part of Circle Health Group, is seeking a Radiographer to join the Imaging team in Reading. This is a full-time role at 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern and a salary up to £40,000 depending on experience and qualifications.

You will perform a range of diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensure high-quality images, adapt techniques for paediatric and complex cases, provide patient-centred care, and work closely with radiologists, nurses and admin staff.

Qualifications

  • Hold a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
  • HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
  • Experience in general radiographic techniques with at least 6 months UK hospital experience.
  • Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control and patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures following referral and imaging protocols.
  • Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis and minimise repeats.
  • Adapt techniques to meet patient needs, including paediatrics and patients with limited mobility.
  • Provide a safe, dignified, and patient-centred service and reassure patients throughout the examination.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond to deterioration.
  • Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely, reporting faults promptly.
  • Assist in implementing and using new imaging technologies and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
  • Collaborate with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to maintain smooth pathways.

Circle Reading Hospital is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for a Radiographer to join their team of staff in the Imaging department.

This is a full-time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern.

37.5 Hours & Permanent

Salary: Up to £40,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

Duties Of This Role Include
  • Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
  • Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
  • Adapt techniques to meet the needs of individual patients, including paediatrics, bariatrics, and patients with limited mobility
  • Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
  • Monitor patients’ conditions during procedures and respond appropriately to any signs of deterioration.
  • Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
  • Assist in the implementation and use of new imaging technologies, techniques, and digital systems (e.g., PACS, RIS).
  • Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.
Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria
  • BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
  • HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
  • Experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment with a minimum of 6 months UK hospital (NHS or private) experience.
  • Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Postgraduate experience or additional training in a specialist area (e.g., CT, MRI, theatre imaging, mammography) desirable.
