Job summary

Circle Health Group's The Harbour Hospital in Poole is seeking a Radiographer to join the Imaging department on a 13-month fixed-term contract. The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week, with a flexible shift pattern and hours from 08:00 to 20:00, Monday to Friday.

You will perform diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensure high-quality images, and maintain patient safety in line with IR(ME)R. HCPC registration and a BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography with at least two years’ experience are

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures following referral and protocols.
• Ensure high-quality images to support accurate diagnosis and minimise repeats.
• Provide a safe, patient-centred service and explain procedures to patients.
• Comply with IR(ME)R and safety protocols; report faults promptly.
• Coordinate with radiologists, consultants, nurses and admin for smooth pathways.

Radiographer - MRI/CT/X-Ray - 13 Month Fixed Term Contract The Harbour Hospital 37.5 Hours & Fixed Term Salary: Up to £42,000.00 per year (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

The Harbour Hospital in Poole is part of Circle Health Group, Britain's leading provider of independent healthcare with a nationwide network of hospitals & clinics, performing more complex surgery than any other private healthcare provider in the country.

We have an opportunity for an Radiographer to join their team of staff in the Imaging department.

This is a full time role for 37.5 hours a week. The role holder will be required to cover a flexible shift pattern. Candidates should be available to work within our imaging departments opening hours of 08:00 - 20:00, Monday - Friday. Flexible hours may be considered.

Duties of this role include:

• Perform a wide range of diagnostic radiographic procedures (e.g., general X-rays, theatre, fluoroscopy, mobiles) following referral and imaging protocols.
• Ensure high-quality images are produced to support accurate diagnosis, minimising the need for repeat exposures.
• Provide a safe, dignified, and person-centred service, ensuring patients are informed, comfortable, and reassured throughout their examination.
• Comply with IR(ME)R regulations, local rules, and departmental safety protocols to ensure safe radiation practices.
• Ensure equipment is checked, maintained, and used safely and effectively, reporting faults promptly.
• Work closely with radiologists, consultants, nurses, porters, and admin teams to coordinate care efficiently and maintain smooth patient pathways.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification.
• HCPC registration as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
• Must have minimum 2 years experience in general radiographic techniques and equipment.
• Good understanding of IR(ME)R, health & safety, infection control, and patient confidentiality requirements.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
