Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Radiation Protection Adviser to provide strategic, regulatory and operational support at the Springfields Fuel Site near Preston. You will interpret UK legislation, oversee compliance, and advise on radiological risks for processes, equipment and waste.

You will report to the Head of Radiation Protection and drive dosimetry review, waste sentencing, incident response and training, promoting ALARP-based safety across the site.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Competence as an RPA issued by RPA2000.
• Strong knowledge of UK radiation legislation (IRR17, REPPIR, CDG19).
• Operational understanding of ALARP principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic, regulatory and operational support for radiation protection at the site.
• Interpret UK regulations and ensure site compliance and safety.
• Lead dosimetry review, waste sentencing and radiological risk communication.
• Deliver training and participate in emergency response exercises.
• Investigate incidents and contribute to continuous safety improvements.
