Job summary

Airbus Defence and Space Limited in Portsmouth is seeking a Radar Backend Systems Development Engineer to own the architecture, specification and delivery of the radar payload’s digital backend and related elements.

You will work in a hybrid model with 60% office-based time, contributing to high-speed data architectures, FPGA/ASIC development, and system interfaces for spaceborne radar. A degree in electrical engineering and relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable field.
• Experience in digital, high-speed, and/or mixed-signal electronics.
• Experience with analyses for spaceborne electronics.

Responsibilities

• Define high-speed data architecture including ADCs/DACs and high-throughput FPGAs/ASICs.
• Specify instrument digital backend to meet radar timing, control and processing needs.
• Define interface between radar back-end and platform/front-end; ensure operational interfaces.
• Develop plans, model philosophies, verification and test strategies considering constraints.
