Job summary

Williams F1 Team is seeking an experienced assembler to build, strip and service suspension, brake, steering and power unit integration components for race, test and customer cars. You will assess parts, report faults and operate pass-off rigs as part of a tight-knit engineering team.

Important candidates will have hands-on experience in F1, F2 or sports car racing, strong attention to detail and the ability to clearly explain technical issues to designers, team leaders or mechanics.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience building complex components or sub-assemblies in F1, F2 or sports car racing.
• An eye for detail that does not switch off at the end of a long build week.
• The ability to explain a technical problem clearly to a designer, a team leader or a mechanic, without a long preamble.

Responsibilities

• Building, stripping and servicing suspension, brake, steering, power unit integration and drive-train components to Engineering and Manufacturing procedure
• Assessing every component as it comes apart and goes back together, and reporting faults rather than working around them
• Operating pass-off and test rigs
• Raising assembly and quality issues with the team leader or the relevant design authority
• Building to deadlines set by the race and test calendar, working from the daily work list
• Recording build and component information accurately in our systems, so the life history of every part stands up to scrutiny
• Keeping the workshop and equipment to the standard the work demands
