**Please note this requires 3 days onsite in central London and falls INSIDE IR35**
About the Role:
We are seeking multiple experienced and analytical Business Analyst to support a global Practice Management System (PMS) migration project within a leading international law firm. The roles focuses on the Record-to-Report (R2R) processes. Position 1 - Will be to focus on Project and Fixed asset accounting aspects of the solution and ensuring the smooth interfacing of the new accounting system to the existing Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) and Treasury aspects of the wider finance operations. Position 2 - Will concentrate on the delivery of accurate and timely Financial, Management and Tax Reporting within the underpinning Financial Control and Compliance Frameworks. It will also play a critical part in ensuring the new PMS meets the firm’s compliance, reconciliation, and financial integrity requirements across multiple jurisdictions. Position 3 - Will be focused on on core accounting and master data, and general ledger (GL) and period end processes. The objective of which is to deliver timely and accurate financial, management and tax reporting and within the companies’ compliance framework.
As part of the wider Finance Transformation team, you will play a critical role in ensuring that planning and performance management capabilities are robustly supported in the new PMS, driving enhanced decision-making and financial visibility across the global business.
Project 1
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the lead Business Analyst for the areas of the R2R workstream that you will be responsible for within the PMS migration programme.
• Work closely with Finance stakeholders and other project BA’s to define and document requirements for, the Project and Fixed Asset accounting solutions and their interfaces to and from PMS. As well as the interfaces from PMS to the existing FP&A and Treasury tools.
• Support the integration of Project and Fixed Assets data within the overall PMS data structures (e.g., matter, client, practice area, geography) and to deliver effective FP&A and Treasury system inputs is delivered as part of the PMS solution.
• Collaborate with technical teams to ensure that project accounting, fixed asset accounting, and the related data feeds, including those required by the FP&A and Treasury systems are correctly configured and aligned with business needs.
• Assess and improve current Project and FA Accounting FP&A and Treasury processes and tools, recommending enhancements that support strategic insight and operational agility.
• Partner with Finance and IT to ensure seamless integration between the PMS and external Fixed asset, FP&A and Treasury reporting tools (e.g. CHH Tagetik and Excel-based models).
• Contribute to the design, testing, and rollout of new project and FA accounting features, including the integration between them and the rest of the PMS system as well as the interfaces from PMS to the Budgeting and forecasting systems and Treasury systems.
• Support data migration activities by assisting with the cleansing and validating of relevant financial and historical data as inputs to the new system once established.
• Facilitate and document user acceptance testing (UAT) and ensure all documentation and training materials are delivered effectively to end users.
• Ensure that new systems and processes as implemented as part of the PMS are compliant with the firm’s governance standards and support local and global financial reporting obligations.
• To support the activities of the wider R2R team in achieving is objectives as part of the PMS solution delivery
Project 2
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the subject matter expert for financial, management and tax reporting within the R2R workstream of the PMS migration.
• Contribute with the business and other key stakeholders to the design and testing of financial management and tax related reports, dashboards, and regulatory reporting outputs.
• Define and assess current and future-state GL and control processes, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, or risks in existing workflows and proposing robust solutions in the target system.
• Work with Finance stakeholders and the Accounting Process Analyst to ensure proper setup and integration of internal controls, such as segregation of duties, posting restrictions, automated reconciliations, and audit trails.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Finance, Compliance, Risk, and IT) to ensure that regulatory, audit, and reporting requirements are considered and met to ensure accurate configuration and alignment of the PMS with accounting principles (e.g. IFRS, local GAAPs).
• Support data mapping and validation activities between the legacy system and new PMS, ensuring completeness and accuracy of GL-related data to ensure the accuracy of the resulting Reporting Outputs.
• Work with the technical team to validate system configurations, workflows, and posting logic align with business and compliance expectations.
• Prepare and execute test plans, including UAT, specifically for, financial statements, tax returns, management reports and compliance reporting.
• Develop clear and thorough documentation including process maps, control matrices, requirements specifications, and training materials for Finance end-users.
• Assist in change management activities, ensuring global stakeholders are informed, trained, and supported throughout the transition.
• Ensure that new systems and processes as implemented as part of the PMS are compliant with the firm’s governance standards and support local and global financial, management and tax reporting obligations.

Project 3
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead the analysis and documentation of General Ledger (GL) requirements, including chart of accounts (CoA) design, posting rules, journal entry processes, and financial period timetabling and management.
• Elicit, analyse, and document business requirements related to GL structures, journal processing, period-end closing, intercompany accounting, to ensure timely and accurate system output generation.
• Develop the protocols to define and set up all finance master data objects in the PMS and mapping to the relevant objects in the legacy system.
• Collaborate with Finance, IT, and Reporting Compliance Teams and the Financial controls analyst to ensure accurate configuration and alignment of the PMS with accounting principles (e.g. IFRS, local GAAPs).
• Map current R2R processes and identify opportunities for standardisation and automation in the target system.
• Define and support the implementation of chart of accounts (CoA), reporting hierarchies, and multi-entity consolidation.
• Support the migration of accounting data from legacy systems, ensuring data quality, completeness, and reconciliation.
• Liaise with technology teams and system integrators to ensure finance requirements are correctly translated into system designs and workflows.
• Support the change management process by developing training materials, procedural documents, and communications tailored to Finance users globally.
• Ensure that new systems and processes as implemented as part of the PMS are compliant with the firm’s governance standards and support local and global financial reporting obligations.
• To support the activities of the wider R2R team in achieving is objectives as part of the PMS solution delivery.
Key Skills & Experience:
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst supporting finance system implementations or transformation programmes, ideally in a professional services or legal environment.
• Understanding of Record-to-Report (R2R) functions and how they integrate with business planning and performance management.
• Experience with PMS - Aderant is essentrial (e.g. Elite 3E, Aderant, SAP, CHH Tagetik, Workday Adaptive Planning, or similar).
• Strong data analysis and modelling skills, with the ability to translate Project, FA accounting and interfaces into FP&A systems interface needs into system requirements and functional designs.
• Familiarity with performance dashboards, KPI reporting, and financial modelling tools.
• Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to work with senior finance stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors.
• High attention to detail and a methodical approach to data validation and reconciliation during migration.
• Analytical mindset with proven problem-solving skills, documentation skills, and experience managing change across global finance functions.
• Flexible attitude to work collaboratively as required as part of a highly skilled professional team to help achieve the targets of the wider R2R team.
Desirable:
• Experience working within or supporting Finance departments in a multinational law firm.
• Exposure to multi-currency accounting, intercompany processes, and global consolidation structures.
• Familiarity with finance reconciliation tools, automated control systems, and or reporting platforms (e.g. Power BI, Tableau) within PMS or ERP systems.
• Understanding of profitability analysis, including matter or client-level contribution.
• Background in accounting or finance (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, CPA) is a plus.
