Kensa is recruiting in Chacewater near Truro for a 12-month fixed-term, full-time engineering role focused on practical R&D testing and maintenance of testing equipment. You will build simple test rigs, diagnose faults, and work with R&D to align plans with project needs.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and a careful approach to testing and practical work.
• Ability to grasp new concepts and apply them in practice.
• An organised, orderly approach to work and workspace.
• Practical skills and confidence using hand tools.
• Some practical experience with electro-mechanical equipment.
• Brazing and soldering experience would be beneficial, but is not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out R&D tests and monitor their progress in line with agreed test plans.
• Oversee the calibration and maintenance of testing equipment.
• Build and operate simple test rigs to support development work.
• Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults on prototypes and equipment.
• Collaborate with R&D engineers to ensure test plans align with project requirements.
