As the first American Formula 1 team since 1986, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team made a notable debut in 2016 and has since demonstrated growth, with its second-best season to date.

We are a racing team with three headquarters—Kannapolis (US), Banbury (UK), and Maranello (Italy)—driven by passionate and dedicated team members. Known as the 'family team,' we value visibility, contribution, and mutual learning.

Position Overview:

This role reports to the R&D Team Leader or their designee (factory-based) or the Chief Mechanic (during race travel) and is based in Banbury, UK.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Promote teamwork and effective communication across departments.
  2. Collaborate with the R&D Lead Team Leader, report issues, and find solutions promptly.
  3. Perform non-destructive testing on car and pit equipment components.
  4. Inspect in-service car parts during turnaround.
  5. Follow test procedures for component testing and proof testing.
  6. Operate R&D test equipment, loggers, sensors, and load frame testing tools.
  7. Document and report test results and fault findings.
  8. Assist with research and development testing as needed.
  9. Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of work areas and tools.
  10. Adhere to engineering procedures and safety regulations.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

GCSE or high school diploma required; further education preferred. At least five years of experience in motorsport, with expertise in metrology and non-destructive testing. Knowledge of component tracking, report writing, and technical drawings is essential. Experience in F1 or high-level motorsport is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills:

Strong communication, mechanical understanding, ability to interpret technical drawings, and experience with ISO standards, CAD, and inspection of composites. Ability to work under pressure, make quick decisions, and collaborate effectively within a team are crucial.

Equipment Knowledge:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Dynamics AX, and familiarity with 3D scanning and regulatory compliance related to materials and facility maintenance.

Work Environment:

Must work effectively in a high-pressure, time-sensitive environment, with occasional travel and flexible hours. Physical demands include lifting, bending, and manual dexterity, with exposure to machinery, race cars, and hazardous fluids. Compliance with health and safety policies is mandatory.

Core Values:
