Job summary

PwC is seeking a skilled R&D Tax Manager to join the Financial Services Tax Innovation & Capital Incentives team. The role focuses on advising on HMRC incentives, leading client relationships, and delivering high-quality technical reports and claims for a diverse financial services client base.

You will work with colleagues across the firm to apply the latest HMRC guidance, manage projects end-to-end, and develop your own capabilities.

Qualifications

• Experience with R&D regimes and preparation of R&D claims (reviewing workings, contributing to client calls, and preparing supporting documentation)
• Ability to lead client communications and liaise with PwC teams
• Autonomy to work independently and develop professionally
• Passion for client service and proactive client engagement across levels of seniority
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple clients and stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Support and develop junior staff, coaching and facilitating development
• Lead role in managing client relationships, deadlines, and day-to-day queries
• Collaborate with Senior Managers to support client relationships and project delivery
• Use AI tools to support day-to-day activities, including drafting reports and technical summaries for HMRC filings
• Prepare numerical reports and summaries illustrating innovation in client projects
• Contribute to business development and identify opportunities to win work for existing and new clients
• Coordinate with colleagues across Tax Markets and multiple internal stakeholders
