Who are we looking for?

To support our growth, we are seeking a R&D Project Manager based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. You will be working within a global team of R&D Scientists and Applications Engineers and in coordination with Business Unit Leaders, Sales, and Development partners. In this role, you will oversee R&D and Applications Projects related to Polymer Protection and Thermal Interface Materials (PPT) materials and deliver high-quality services to internal and external customers within budget and schedule.

This is a unique opportunity to be a key player in the successful development of future Circuit Board Assembly solutions for automotive, mobile, computing, and consumer markets.

What will you be doing?
  • Overall responsibility for planning and leading internal and external projects related to the development of Polymer Protection and Thermal Interface Material Solutions.
  • Lead new project development projects across our global PPT laboratories.
  • Coordinate with R&D Centres in the US, Europe, and Asia to define, plan, and execute projects.
  • Facilitate project meetings and provide timely status updates to management and stakeholders, including budget, timeline, risks, and scope.
  • Conduct cost, time, and resource planning; assess risks; and define mitigation strategies.
  • Manage project risks and lead efforts to find solutions to mitigate delays or issues.
  • Proactively communicate any issues or concerns to management.
  • Work with global Project Managers to develop and maintain portfolio management processes.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Product Managers, Manufacturing, and Quality teams for alignment and information flow.
  • Mentor and empower local technical teams in project management practices.
Who are you?

Ideally, you will have:

  • Proven experience managing complex projects using methodologies like Agile, Lean, Waterfall, with relevant Project Management certifications (PMP/CSM/CPMP or similar).
  • Experience in technology-oriented projects or electronics field.
  • Master's degree in engineering or science fields; Ph.D. preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an industrial R&D environment.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, Visio, MS Projects.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (<15%) and build international relationships.
  • Ability to understand technical challenges and lead problem-solving in real-time.
  • Availability to work onsite as needed.
