Job summary

Domino Printing Sciences in the United Kingdom is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the Automation Software team, driving the delivery of automation software and providing strong technical leadership across the product lifecycle.

You will mentor teams, promote Agile ways of working and collaborate with R&D, Product Management and Programme Management to align priorities while upholding engineering standards and managing technical risk.

About The Role

As a Principal Engineer in our Automation Software team, you’ll lead the development and delivery of Domino’s automation software, ensuring it remains a core part of our industry‑leading solutions. You’ll provide technical leadership, drive engineering excellence, and help shape the future of our software products in line with our roadmap.

Working across R&D, Product Management, and Programme Management, you’ll lead teams through the full product lifecycle, from discovery to delivery, while promoting Agile ways of working and supporting the growth of engineering capability across the business.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for someone with

• Extensive experience with C#, .NET, WPF, and MVVM.
• A proven track record of delivering software products across the full product lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of engineering practices such as TDD, BDD, CI/CD, and SOLID principles.
• Experience establishing engineering standards, best practices, and reusable frameworks.
• Previous line management and leadership experience.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing technical risk and making effective trade‑offs.
• The ability to inspire teams while promoting ownership, accountability, and technical excellence.
