Job summary

Agilent Technologies, Inc. in the Oxford/Harwell area is seeking an experienced R&D Manager to lead software teams in delivering next-generation Raman software products.

You will manage operations within the Raman software portfolio, ensure lifecycle discipline, and coordinate with global partners to integrate hardware and software across platforms. The role emphasizes mentoring software engineers, driving innovation, and solving complex engineering challenges in a regulated instrument

Qualifications

• Experience leading technical teams as a project or people manager.
• Experience in design and development of commercial software on Microsoft or Linux platforms with modern architecture technologies (containerization, Kubernetes, microservices, messaging systems, or web technologies).
• Strong software engineering and development experience including software development processes, DevSecOps, CI, and cloud deployment.
• Experience with software development for regulated environments (21 CFR Part 11) would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the next-generation Raman software products.
• Oversee overall operations in the R&D area with adherence to a defined software product lifecycle.
• Solve engineering and research challenges and lead investigations through to resolution.
• Collaborate with internal and external development partners to integrate hardware and software solutions.
• Develop and mentor software team members, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
