Job summary

PepsiCo is offering a 12‑month placement in its Global R&D Ingredient Science team in the United Kingdom. You will explore science-led ingredient solutions across the innovation pipeline, working on carbohydrates, dietary fibre and nutritional ingredients to deliver consumer benefits.

You will develop laboratory, analytical and communication skills while collaborating with colleagues in R&D, product development and regulatory areas, with mentorship and a dynamic, health‑and‑wellbeing focused

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree including an industrial placement year in a food/science field.
• Strong science foundation and enthusiasm for ingredients, foods and beverages.
• Interest in carbohydrates, fibre, phytonutrients and nutrition.
• Lab methods, record keeping and safety practices are part of your skillset.
• Proficiency with Excel; data analysis and basic statistics are helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assist food laboratory experiments and ingredient evaluations of carbohydrates, dietary fibre and related platforms.
• Plan and carry out well-controlled practical studies following safety and quality standards.
• Analyse data, identify key findings, and prepare reports and recommendations for teams.
• Support innovation projects by evaluating ingredient functionality and nutritional performance.
• Conduct literature reviews and identify emerging ingredients and opportunities.
• Contribute to model food systems and analytical methods development.
• Collaborate with R&D, product development, nutrition and regulatory teams and external partners.
