Job summary

Keystone Group in Cookstown, Northern Ireland, is seeking an experienced Research & Development Engineer to lead R&D projects across the business, collaborating with procurement, design teams and internal stakeholders to identify new technologies and support future product development.

You will design prototypes, run testing and validation activities, produce clear technical reports and ensure all work aligns with project specifications, timelines and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering with a Design Discipline or equivalent background.
• Strong knowledge of construction or building industry.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit software.
• Experience with 2D and 3D CAD.

Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate technical solutions to support new and ongoing development projects.
• Identify and assess emerging technologies to support future product innovation.
• Plan and deliver development, testing and validation activities, producing clear technical reports.
• Work to detailed project specifications, ensuring activities are delivered on time and to required standards.
• Collaborate with procurement, supply chain and design teams to identify cost-effective solutions and maximise technology opportunities.
• Conduct supplier technology benchmarking and support the evaluation of new capabilities.
• Design and develop prototypes, gauges and systems for a range of applications.
• Investigate technical issues, support troubleshooting activities and analyse system performance.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams and produce technical content for internal and external audiences.
