Job summary

Vickerstock is seeking an R&D Engineer to join its established engineering team in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland. The role combines new product development with ongoing product improvement, offering exposure to concept through to manufacture.

You will contribute across design, testing and validation in a collaborative environment. You will design and develop using 3D CAD (SolidWorks, Creo, Solid Edge, Inventor), produce production-ready drawings, evaluate materials and support manufacturing to

Qualifications

• Experience in Mechanical Design, Product Design or R&D in manufacturing.
• Strong 3D CAD ability; SolidWorks preferred; Creo/Solid Edge/Inventor also acceptable.
• Ability to produce and interpret engineering drawings and apply DFM principles.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products, components and engineering solutions.
• Develop concepts through 3D CAD into detailed production-ready designs.
• Produce 3D models, assemblies and technical drawings.
• Improve existing products to enhance performance and manufacturability.
• Work closely with Manufacturing to ensure designs can be produced effectively.
• Support the introduction of new designs into production.
• Investigate issues and develop practical engineering solutions.
• Evaluate materials and manufacturing methods within the design process.
• Support testing, design reviews and validation activities.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manufacturing cost.
