Job summary

Market 36 Recruitment are seeking an R&D Engineer for a permanent role in Saffron Walden. You will research and document new repair capabilities, identify tooling needs and support the development of test equipment for aerospace components.

With a background in aerospace engineering and hands-on electronics fabrication, you will collaborate with the R&D Manager to prioritise capability projects and ensure regulatory and quality compliance. Hours are 40 per week, Mon-Fri; salary is competitive.

Qualifications

• Background in aerospace engineering or aircraft component maintenance.
• Experience in aerospace engineering environment.
• Experience with Part-145 repairs desirable.
• Familiarity with CMMs and technical documentation.
• Hands-on electronics fabrication; ability to build test boxes.
• Strong technical analysis, research and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills; able to work independently.
• Engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Research and review CMMs to identify new repair capabilities.

• Research and review Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) to identify new component repair capabilities.
• Extract and document technical information, including tooling requirements, test procedures, repair processes, materials and consumables.
• Complete capability application forms and submit technical information through the company's internal system.

• Support the development of new repair processes, tooling solutions and test equipment.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

• Practical engineering experience within an aerospace environment.
• Experience with Part-145 repairs is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) and technical engineering documentation.
• Hands-on experience with electronics fabrication, including the ability to build test boxes.
• Strong technical analysis, research and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage workload independently.
• Engineering degree or equivalent relevant experience.
