Job summary

ENVEA in Cambridge, UK, is seeking an experienced R&D Software Engineer to join an international team focused on environmental sensing technology. You will design, develop and test embedded software for sensing products, collaborating closely with hardware engineers and scientists to bring concepts through production.

You will contribute to verification, validation, and continuous improvement, delivering high‑quality code and documentation for global customers in a multidisciplinary engineering

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Strong commercial experience developing embedded software in C/C++.
• Experience with embedded microcontrollers and real-time embedded systems.
• Good understanding of embedded hardware, schematics and hardware/software integration.
• Experience using Git and modern software development practices.
• Strong debugging, testing and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test embedded software for new products.
• Support existing products throughout their lifecycle.
• Collaborate on hardware and software integration.
• Review, optimise and maintain high-quality code.
• Produce technical documentation and test reports.
