Job summary

ENVEA is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Cambridge-based R&D team, developing embedded software for environmental monitoring equipment.

You will design, implement and test C/C++ code for new products, collaborate with hardware engineers across the UK and Germany, and contribute to software quality and documentation throughout the product lifecycle.

Join a multidisciplinary team with opportunities for technical development and international collaboration.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electronic Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Strong commercial experience developing embedded software in C/C++.
  • Experience with embedded microcontrollers and real-time embedded systems.
  • Good understanding of embedded hardware, schematics and hardware/software integration.
  • Experience using Git and modern software development practices.
  • Strong debugging, testing and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and test embedded software for new products.
  • Support existing products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Collaborate on hardware and software integration.
  • Review, optimise and maintain high-quality code.
  • Produce technical documentation and test reports.
  • Contribute to product verification, validation and continuous improvement.
