Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a motivated Quarry Operative to work outdoors across UK sites, operating a range of mobile and static plant. You will help ensure production targets are met while upholding high safety and environmental standards.

The role requires hands-on operation, maintenance tasks, and collaboration with site management to support efficient quarry processes. A proactive, reliable attitude and willingness to train are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
• Experience operating mobile plant in quarry, construction, industrial or similar environments.
• Proactive and reliable approach to work.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Willing to undertake training and gain more plant competencies.
• Ability to work flexibly to support site requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate mobile and static plant safely and efficiently per procedures.
• Carry out routine plant maintenance, refuelling, greasing and cleaning.
• Support operation of main processing plant and equipment.
• Complete daily plant inspections and report defects.
• Ensure equipment is well-maintained and economical.
• Report faults and concerns to the General Foreman.
• Contribute to a positive safety culture by reporting near misses.
• Assist with site housekeeping and maintenance tasks.
• Support colleagues to achieve operational objectives.
