Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is seeking a Quarry Operative at Batts Combe Quarry, Cheddar. You will operate the weighbridge, process tickets, and support site logistics. Full training will be provided with potential to develop into multi-skilled roles.

Hours are 39.5 per week, with a competitive starting salary, weekly bonus and overtime opportunities. This role offers training, progression, and a strong safety culture within a global leader in building materials.

• Previous experience in weighbridge, logistics, administration or customer service would be beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Operating the quarry weighbridge for all incoming and outgoing vehicles.
• Processing delivery tickets, sales orders, customer accounts, and waste transfer documentation.
• Providing a professional and welcoming experience for drivers, customers, contractors, and visitors.
• Working closely with supervisors, transport providers, and site teams to support efficient operations.
• Maintaining accurate records and administrative systems.
• Ensuring vehicle compliance and site access requirements are met.
• Reporting safety concerns, incidents, and near misses promptly.
• Supporting general site administration and operational activities as required.
• Following all Heidelberg Materials Health & Safety, Environmental, and Compliance procedures.

What You’ll Be Doing
