Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is inviting applications for a Quarry Operative to operate a range of mobile and static plant and support processing across UK sites. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork and hands-on equipment operation.

The successful candidate will work outdoors, perform routine maintenance, and help achieve production targets while upholding health and environmental standards, reporting to site management.

Qualifications

• Experience operating mobile plant within a quarry, construction, industrial or similar environment is desirable.
• A proactive and reliable approach to work.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A willingness to undertake training and gain additional plant operation competencies.
• The ability to work flexibly and support operational requirements across the site.

Responsibilities

• Operating mobile and static plant safely and efficiently in line with company procedures and training.
• Carrying out routine plant maintenance, including refuelling, greasing and cleaning.
• Supporting the operation of the main processing plant and associated equipment.
• Completing daily plant inspections and reporting any defects or issues.
• Ensuring equipment is maintained in good working order and operated economically.
• Reporting faults, defects and operational concerns to the General Foreman.
• Contributing to a positive safety culture by identifying and reporting near misses.
• Assisting with general site housekeeping and maintenance activities.
• Supporting colleagues across the site as required to achieve operational objectives.

Do you enjoy working outdoors, operating heavy plant and being part of a team that keeps essential construction materials moving across the UK?, As a Quarry Operative, you will play a key role in the safe and efficient operation of quarry equipment and processing plant.
