Job summary

IonQ, Inc. in Oxford is seeking a hands‑on Staff Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier quality from selection through ongoing performance.

You will audit suppliers, own incoming material inspection, and define how novel components are qualified and inspected, ensuring reliability and performance across the supply base. You will collaborate with Strategic Sourcing, Engineering & Technology, and governance bodies to maintain robust quality systems.

Qualifications

• Eight years or more of supplier quality, manufacturing or manufacturing engineering experience in a production environment.
• Knowledge of Quality Management Systems such as AS9100 and ISO quality management standards; Six Sigma and 8D.
• Excellent communication with suppliers, senior management and non-technical colleagues; self-directed with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Lead supplier selection, qualification, audits and assessments, and drive continuous improvement at supplier sites
• Own the Approved Supplier List, including decision authority for supplier approval, conditional approval and disapproval
• Run the Supplier Corrective Action Request process, leading containment, root cause analysis and corrective and preventive action
• Set and drive supplier quality KPIs, and present performance at management review
• Translate ECJU, UK Dual-Use List, DEFCON, DCC and Cyber Essentials requirements down to suppliers and verify compliance
