Job summary

Riverlane is offering a full-time summer internship at our Cambridge, UK head office for 10–12 weeks. You will work alongside software and hardware engineers, mathematicians, and physicists on a project that leverages your existing skills while building new quantum computing knowledge.

We value students in technical fields, with experience in programming and an interest in quantum computing. The internship is hybrid, with a competitive salary and IP ownership terms.

Qualifications

• Current student in CS, SE, Physics, Chemistry, Maths or related field.
• Studying toward Bachelor's or higher degree.
• Experience with at least one general-purpose language.
• Understanding of data structures and algorithms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to take initiative and work in a team.
• Interest in applying software skills to quantum computing; prior quantum knowledge not required.
• Available to work full-time for 10-12 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test software contributing to Riverlane's quantum error correction tech.
• Collaborate with software engineers, researchers and other disciplines.
• Explore ideas, evaluate approaches, and contribute to problem-solving.
• Communicate your work through discussions, presentations and reports.
• Develop understanding of quantum computers and their applications.
