Job summary

Riverlane is offering a full-time fixed-term Research Internship in Cambridge for 10–12 weeks. You will join a project on quantum error correction, working with researchers and engineers to develop models, simulations and analyses.

Strong analytical and programming skills are essential, with a focus on learning and applying complex concepts in a collaborative setting. The role requires full-time availability during the summer.

Qualifications

• Evidence of strong theoretical, mathematical or computational skills.
• Experience using at least one programming language.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to take initiative and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a focused research project aligned with Riverlane’s scientific goals.
• Investigate theoretical or computational problems relating to quantum error correction.
• Develop mathematical models, algorithms or simulations for your project.
• Analyse results, compare approaches and draw evidence-based conclusions.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers, learning from their expertise.
• Communicate findings through technical discussions, presentations and written reports.
• Develop understanding of quantum computing, QEC and translating research into practice.
