Job summary

Riverlane is seeking a Research Intern for a 10–12 week summer project at our Cambridge, UK headquarters. You will work on a focused topic in quantum error correction, exploring theory, simulations or algorithms with supervision from experienced researchers.

We welcome students across physics, math, CS and engineering, with strong analytical skills and a willingness to learn. You must be able to commit full-time for the duration and have the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Currently a student (2nd year or later) pursuing a technical degree.
• Strong theoretical, mathematical or computational skills demonstrated through coursework or projects.
• Experience with at least one programming language.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work full-time for 10–12 weeks during summer.
• Right to work in the UK for the full duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a focused research project aligned with Riverlane’s goals.
• Investigate quantum error correction theory or simulations.
• Develop mathematical models, algorithms or simulations for your project.
• Analyse results, compare approaches and draw evidence-based conclusions.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers and share findings in discussions and reports.
• Present findings through technical talks and written reports.
