Job summary

Riverlane in Cambridge, UK, is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test to join the Test Engineering team. You will test Riverlane’s QEC software—Deltakit, the compiler front end, and Deltaflow—end-to-end, writing robust Python tests and ensuring they reflect real user workflows.

You’ll work closely with developers to understand new features and plan validation, aiming to improve usability and product quality.

Qualifications

Knowledge of quantum computation and core concepts (e.g., quantum circuits).
Experience as a developer working on a product, software or hardware.
Strong Python skills and familiarity with testing tooling.
User-focused mindset and ability to translate user needs into tests.
Track record of proposing product or library improvements.

Responsibilities

Design, write and maintain Python tests across QEC software stack (Deltakit, compiler front end).
Test features from the customer perspective and reflect how users will work with the product.
Identify areas where functionality could be clearer or easier to use and propose improvements.
Share findings with engineering and product teams and drive changes in the product.
Collaborate with developers to understand new features and plan testing.
