Job summary

Nu Quantum is seeking a Software Engineer to help create tools for scientists developing our quantum networking solutions. You will join the Software team delivering software for internal lab use, control interfaces, and GUI for prototype products.

You’ll work in an agile team, collaborating with scientists and engineers to define requirements, maintain, and test software solutions. Visa sponsorship available for this Cambridge-based role.

Qualifications

• Experience with compiled languages such as Rust and C++.
• Knowledge of embedded systems including microcontrollers and SOCs.
• Proficiency in Python scripting and standard development practices (CI, unit tests, HWIL).

Responsibilities

• Develop software to interface with optics, electronics and hardware.
• Collaborate with FPGA and electronics specialists to enable network control systems.
• Develop user interfaces for product demonstrators and measurement control.
• Improve workflows and system design through proactive recommendations.
• Create high-quality, testable, and maintainable code.
