Job summary

Riverlane in Cambridge, UK, offers a Software Engineering Internship for 10–12 weeks. You join a team of software and hardware engineers, mathematicians, and quantum specialists to deliver real-world quantum computing work.

As a current student, you’ll contribute code, learn by doing, and produce meaningful work with guidance from a dedicated supervisor. Prior interns have helped advance quantum software tools and research.

Qualifications

• Must be a current student at application time (Bachelor's/Master's/PhD).
• Studying CS, SE, Physics, Chemistry, Math, Electronic Engineering or related technical field.
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language (coursework/projects/research).
• Understanding of core programming concepts, data structures and algorithms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; clear written and verbal communication.
• Ability to take initiative and work well in a team; interest in applying software to quantum computing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and test software contributing to Riverlane's quantum error correction technology.
• Collaborate with software engineers, researchers and other disciplines.
• Explore ideas, evaluate approaches and contribute to technical problem-solving.
