Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor for our Sapphire Utilities team in Sheffield. You will support commercial management across projects, handle cost control, contract administration and payments, and work with clients and subcontractors to maximise commercial opportunities.

The role focuses on profitability and timely delivery of high-quality services, with salary negotiable dependent on experience and a 40-hour week at our Sheffield site.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Quantity Surveying role within utilities, civil engineering, infrastructure, groundworks or related sectors.
• Sound understanding of commercial management and contract administration.
• Strong financial and commercial awareness with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Support effective commercial management of assigned projects and contracts from inception to final account.
• Maintain understanding of contract requirements and communicate obligations to stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit applications for payment, invoices, and supporting documentation on time.
• Manage change control processes including early warnings, variations and contractual notices.
• Produce commercial reports, forecasts, cost/value reconciliations and financial statements.
