Job summary

Murphy is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the Transportation team for CAM - East Anglia, Marks Tey. You will contribute to rail renewals, bridge works and highways through accurate valuations, procurement planning and robust contract administration.

The role requires a HND/Degree, experience in a commercial position, and professional accreditation progress with RICS/ICES. Murphy offers comprehensive benefits and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• HND/Degree qualification in a relevant field or equivalent.
• Proven experience in a commercial role (Assistant QS, QS, or similar).
• Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership.
• Knowledge of standard forms of contract, NEC preferable, with standard MM methods.

Responsibilities

• Aid in internal commercial reporting and other required reports.
• Prepare valuations/applications for payment with full documentation per contract.
• Control cost reports to the client with contractual documentation.
• Prepare and manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
• Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from requisitions to final accounts.
• Undertake contract administration including change management and registers.
• Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
• Use cost allocation/coding for internal and external reporting.
• Measure quantities in accordance with standard methods of measurement.
• Assist in the preparation of project final accounts.
• Draft subcontracts including professional services.
