Job summary

Murphy is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to work with Transportation on CAM, based in Marks Tey. The role focuses on commercial reporting, valuations, cost control and contract administration across rail projects.

The candidate should have experience in commercial roles (Assistant QS/QS), be registered with RICS/ICES and actively working towards chartership, with knowledge of NEC and standard measurement methods.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a commercial role e.g., Assistant QS or QS.
  • Registered with RICS/ICES and working towards chartership.
  • Knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract, NEC preferable and Understanding of MOFM.

Responsibilities

  • Aid in internal commercial reporting and other required reports.
  • Prepare valuations/applications for payment with full documentation per contract.
  • Control of cost reports to the client with contractually compliant docs.
  • Prepare and manage subcontract and material procurement schedules.
  • Administer subcontractor/supplier accounts from requisitions to final accounts.
  • Undertake contract administration including change management and registers.
  • Identify commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change.
  • Use cost allocation/coding for internal and external reporting.
  • Measure quantities per standard methods of measurement.
  • Assist in final accounts preparation.
  • Draft subcontracts including professional services.
