Murphy is recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to work on Energy projects from Holton-St-Mary, Colchester, covering Norwich to Tilbury. You will join a trusted team delivering cost control, valuations, subcontract administration and final account work.

Ideally you hold an HND or degree, are registered or working towards RICS/ICES, and have solid knowledge of NEC contracts and measurement rules. You will thrive in a dynamic, client‑facing environment within a leading energy contractor.

Competenze

• HND/Degree qualification.
• Proven experience in a commercial role (e.g., Assistant QS or Quantity Surveyor).
• Registered with RICS/ICES and working towards chartership.

A day in the life of a Murphy Quantity Surveyor

• Aid in the internal commercial reporting and any other reports which may be required.
• Prepare Valuations/Applications for Payment with full documentation in accordance with the contract
• Control of Cost Reports to the Client with contractually compliant documentation
• Preparation and management of subcontract and material procurement schedules
• Administration of subcontractor/supplier accounts from the preparation of detailed requisitions, monitoring, and authorisation of subcontract payments through to agreement of final accounts
• Undertake the contract administration, including change management and maintain associated registers.
• Identifying commercial risks, opportunities, value engineering and change
• Use the cost allocation/coding which satisfies both internal and external requirements.
• Measurement of quantities in accordance with the standard methods of measurement as required.
• Assist in the preparation of project final accounts.
• Drafting of subcontracts including professional services.
