Job summary

Adeptus Talent Limited is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor for an M&E role in Leiston, Suffolk. The role focuses on commercial management of mechanical and electrical packages within a major energy infrastructure project, with a hybrid arrangement (typically 3 days on site).

You will support procurement, cost control, valuations and monthly reporting, working within an experienced commercial team to manage subcontractors and variations.

Qualifications

• Experience with NEC and JCT contracts.
• Minimum 5 years' relevant commercial experience.
• Strong communication, negotiation and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

Salary: Up to £65,000 +5420 Car Allowance + Benefits

Working Arrangement: Hybrid - Typically 3 Days Per Week On Site

The Opportunity

We're recruiting a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of an established engineering contractor supporting the delivery of Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) works at a major energy infrastructure facility in Suffolk.

Working within an experienced commercial team, you'll support the financial and contractual management of engineering packages, covering subcontractor procurement, cost control, valuations, variations and commercial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage commercial activities across allocated M&E packages.
• Lead subcontractor procurement, tender analysis and negotiations.
• Manage subcontractor accounts, valuations and payments.
• Identify, assess and manage variations and compensation events.
• Support monthly cost reporting, forecasting and CVRs.

• Monitor project costs, commercial risks and opportunities.

About You

• Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent experience.

• Background in construction, ideally with an M&E or Building Services contractor.
• Working knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
• Experience in subcontractor procurement and commercial management.
• Good understanding of cost control, valuations and monthly reporting.
