Job summary

Cardo Group in the UK is recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join our Scotland team, supporting the commercial management of Reactive Repairs, Voids and Planned Maintenance contracts across social housing.

You will lead on cost control, valuations, CVRs and reporting, working closely with clients, operations, subcontractors and suppliers to maximise profitability while ensuring high standards of service delivery.

Qualifications

Degree in Quantity Surveying with RICS accreditation preferred.
Proven experience as a QS in social housing projects and repairs.
Strong contract knowledge (JCT/NEC/PPC) and pricing mechanisms.
Experience managing valuations, variations, and final accounts.
Solid cost control, CVRs, and cash flow forecasting.
Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

Manage all commercial aspects from tender to final account for social housing contracts.
Prepare, submit, and agree monthly valuations and payments.
Measure, price, and validate works using SORs; review against SORs for value.
Prepare budgets, forecasts, and cash flows; produce CVRs.
Negotiate variations and changes; administer contracts (JCT/NEC).
Secure favourable terms with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Support compliance with housing regs, health & safety, and sustainability.
Collaborate with operations, design, and client teams for delivery.
