Job summary

Henley Chase is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor with roofing expertise to join our Prenton-based team in Merseyside. The role covers commercial management from tender to final account, ensuring profitable delivery and adherence to contracts.

The ideal candidate will have strong roofing knowledge, experience with flat roofing and related works, and proven ability to manage subcontractors and costs across multiple projects. Great communication and negotiation skills are essential.

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector.
• Strong roofing experience, ideally within commercial or industrial roofing.
• Knowledge of flat roofing and associated construction works.
• Experience managing subcontractors and suppliers.
• Strong understanding of valuations, variations, final accounts and cost control.
• Commercially astute with strong attention to detail.
• Good knowledge of construction contracts and procurement processes.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial performance of roofing projects from tender through to final account.
• Prepare and submit valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and forecasts.
• Manage variations, valuations and commercial negotiations.
• Review contracts, specifications and project documentation.
• Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers.
• Prepare and analyse subcontractor and supplier packages.
• Monitor project profitability and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Work closely with site and project teams to ensure commercial targets are achieved.
• Maintain accurate commercial records and provide regular financial reporting.
• Liaise with clients, main contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
• Assist with tendering, pricing and estimating when required.
• Ensure contractual obligations and commercial deadlines are met.

Salary: £50,000-£65,000 per annum, depending on experience

Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with roofing experience to join a well-established roofing contractor based in Prenton.

The role will involve managing the commercial aspects of roofing projects from tender through to final account, ensuring projects are delivered profitably, accurately and in line with contractual requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial roofing, with experience in areas such as flat roofing, refurbishment, planned maintenance or new-build projects.
