My client in Birmingham seeks a Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager with 2+ years' post-graduation experience who is APC-leaning toward RICS, to handle high-value cladding remediation and other schemes in residential towers, healthcare, education and commercial sectors.

Job description

A Birmingham-based consultancy seeks a Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager to join its permanent staff, with a salary between £40,000 and £50,000 plus pension and bonus. This role suits a professional with over two years' post-graduation experience who is preparing for the APC to gain RICS status. You will handle high-value cladding remediation schemes for large residential towers, alongside work in education, healthcare, and commercial sectors. Your background may lean towards cost management or project coordination, but you must possess solid skills in both disciplines. This position offers full-time hours within a well-established multi-disciplinary firm. You will manage projects from inception to completion, ensuring financial control and timely delivery. The Role

My client seeks a Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager who is approaching taking the APC to become RICS qualified to join them in their office in their Birmingham office. Projects are generally of high value and there is a particular need currently for people to work on cladding remediation projects for large residential buildings along with other residential, education, healthcare and some commercial projects. You will either be a Quantity Surveyor with an interest in project management and with a couple of years or more post graduation experience or you may be a Project Manager who has a good handle on the cost management side of projects and with a couple of years experience.

The Company

My client is a long established busy firm of multi disciplinary consultants with several offices.

The Candidate

You will either be a Quantity Surveyor with an interest in Project Management or a Project Manager with some experience of cost management.

• You must have at least two years post graduation experience of working with another firm of consultants / PQS.
• You should be working towards taking the APC towards becoming RICS qualified.
• You will need to have a recognised UK qualification in Quantity Surveying i.e. BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or Construction Project Management.
• You need to have experience of cost control, contract administration, procurement and tendering along with financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
• You must be able to prepare cost plans, budgets and tender documentation plus procure contractors and suppliers.
• You should have used JCT contracts.
• You need to be able to do contract administration, organise meetings, take minutes etc.
• You will ideally be keen to do a mix of quantity surveying and project management.
• You should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to deal with people at all levels.

Salary and Benefits

Salary is in the region of £40000 to £55000 negotiable plus benefits including pension, life assurance, interest free season ticket loan, healthcare cash plan and more.
