Job summary

My client, a long-established multi-disciplinary consultancy in the City of London, seeks a Quantity Surveyor or Project Manager with a couple of years post-graduation experience. The role focuses on cost management and cladding remediation projects for large residential buildings, with opportunities for rapid promotion.

You will work on cost plans, budgets, tender documentation, procure contractors, and handle contract administration alongside meetings and minutes. APC toward RICS is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Min two years post-graduation experience with a practice/consultancy or PQS
• APC target toward RICS qualification
• Recognised UK QS qualification (BSc in QS, Construction Economics, or Construction Project Management)
• Ability to prepare cost plans, budgets and tender docs, and procure contractors/suppliers
• Experience with contract administration, meetings and minute-taking
• Strong written and spoken communication across all levels

Job description

THE ROLE

My client seeks a Quantity Surveyor / Project Manager who is approaching taking the APC to become RICS qualified to join them in their office in their City of London office.

Projects are generally of high value and there is a particular need currently for people to work on cladding remediation projects for large residential buildings along with other residential, education, healthcare and some commercial projects.

You will either be a Quantity Surveyor with an interest in project management and with a couple of years or more post graduation experience or you may be a Project Manager who has a good handle on the cost management side of projects and with a couple of years experience.

The Company

My client is a long established busy firm of multi disciplinary consultants with several offices.

THE CANDIDATE

You will either be a Quantity Surveyor with an interest in Project Management or a Project Manager with some experience of cost management.

You must have at least two years post graduation experience of working with another firm of consultants / PQS.

You should be working towards taking the APC towards becoming RICS qualified.

You will need to have a recognised UK qualification in Quantity Surveying i.e. BSc in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics or Construction Project Management.

You need to be able to prepare cost plans, budgets and tender documentation plus procure contractors and suppliers.

You should have used JCT contracts.

You need to be able to do contract administration, organise meetings, take minutes etc.

You will ideally be keen to do a mix of quantity surveying and project management.

You should have excellent communication skills, both written and spoken to deal with people at all levels.

Salary is in the region of GBP40000 to GBP55000 negotiable plus benefits including pension, life assurance, interest free season ticket loan, healthcare cash plan and more.
