Job summary

Ian Williams Ltd is seeking a Quantity Surveyor based in Kent to support tendering, estimation and cost control for painting, decorating and refurbishment works across South London and Kent. You will work with the commercial and operational teams on a variety of housing, education and public-sector projects.

Based at our Tonbridge Unit, you will build client and supplier relations, deliver cost plans and ensure commercial viability from tender through to final account.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a similar estimating and commercially focused surveying role.
• Experience owning projects and contracts from tender and estimation stages through to final account.
• Experience of working for a painting or refurbishment contractor would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Measure and prepare cost estimates for contracts and tenders.
• Prepare cost value reconciliations for contracts and identify commercial risks and opportunities.
• Work with the Contracts Manager to ensure productivity targets are agreed and issued before contract start.
• Build strong client, supplier, and subcontractor relations for variations and progress discussions.
• Complete and analyse weekly site reporting with cost information (labour rates, budgets, progress).
