Job summary

Mitchell Maguire is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for painting and decorating projects across multiple sectors in the UK. The role focuses on cost control, tendering, and contract management for schemes ranging from small to large scale.

You will liaise with managers, clients and subcontractors to keep projects on track, monitor budgets, and ensure value for money across finishes and fit-out works.

Qualifications

• Must have Quantity Surveying experience within decorating, painting, dry lining, finishing, fit-out market sectors.
• Preferably from a sub-contractor background with commercial project experience.
• Good technical knowledge of industry processes, materials and costs.
• Highly organised with good attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbally.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
• Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Quantity Surveyor previously dealing with a range of commercial painting and decorating projects.
• Prepare cost estimates, budgets, quotations and tender submissions including labour, materials, prelims and programme considerations.
• Liaise with Site / Contract Managers to ensure each project runs smoothly.
• Update changes to the agreed contract scope as they occur.
• Build strong working relationships with clients and subcontractors.
• Work on project sizes ranging from £4k to £4m.
