Job summary

Mitchell Maguire is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for painting and decorating projects. Based in the UK, you will prepare cost estimates, budgets and tender submissions, and liaise with site teams to ensure projects run smoothly.

Ideal candidates have QS experience in decorating/painting, a sub-contractor background, strong technical knowledge, and excellent communication skills. A full UK driving license is required for site visits.

Qualifications

• Must have Quantity Surveying experience within decorating/painting/dry lining/finishing/fit-out market sector (experience with commercial projects).
• Sub-contractor background with commercial project experience preferred.
• Good technical knowledge of industry processes, materials and costs.
• Highly organised with good attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Computer literate (Microsoft Office).
• Full UK driving license.

Responsibilities

• Manage cost estimates, budgets, quotations and tender submissions for painting & decorating projects.
• Liaise with Site/Contract Managers to ensure projects run smoothly.
• Update changes to contract scope as needed.
• Build strong relationships with clients and subcontractors.
• Handle projects from £4k to £4m in value.
