Job summary

Mitchell Maguire is seeking a Quantity Surveyor for the Commercial Refurbishment sector in Plymouth. You will manage commercial and financial aspects of multiple projects, ensuring budgets are controlled and cost-saving opportunities are identified.

Ideal candidates will have QS experience in construction, exposure to public sector projects, strong communication skills, and the ability to work confidently with clients and teams on projects ranging from £700k to £3m.

Qualifications

• Must have Quantity Surveying experience in construction.
• Experience within large scale public sector projects would be highly advantageous.
• Would consider a more junior graduate or a trainee.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal across all levels.
• Confident and articulate in discussions with clients and teams.

Responsibilities

• Quantity Surveyor position dealing with a various commercial construction projects across primarily the public sector
• Manage the commercial and financial aspects of multiple construction projects, ensuring costs are controlled and budgets are maintained.
• Prepare cost estimates, valuations, financial reports, variations, and final accounts.
• Support procurement activities, including tender analysis, subcontractor appointments, and contract administration.
• Carry out regular site visits, monitor project progress, and identify commercial risks and cost-saving opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with clients, contractors, and internal project teams to ensure successful project delivery.
