Job summary

GBR Recruitment is partnering with a progressive housing developer to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor (non-chartered) for managing multiple new build site budgets from inception to completion in Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. The role focuses on CVRs, subcontractor payments and tender analysis.

The ideal candidate will have a BSc Hons in QS or construction, strong communication skills and a CSCS card (or willingness to obtain one).

Qualifications

• BSc Hons Degree in Quantity Surveying or construction related degree.
• Experience on residential new build housing projects.
• CSCS card held or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing multiple sites from inception to completion.
• Help manage budgets and costs for multiple sites.
• Prepare accurate monthly site valuations (CVRs).
• Process weekly/fortnightly payments to direct/subcontractor trades and analyse invoices.

Job description

GBR Recruitment are working in close partnership with a well established progressive new build housing developer recruiting for an experienced new build housing Quantity Surveyor (non chartered) to with managing multiple new build site budgets & costs, from the initial site inception stage right through to full build completion preparing accurate monthly site valuations (CVR's) covering Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire areas.

Overview of the Role:

• To assist with managing multiple sites from inception to completion
• Effectively assisting in the management of all site budgets & costs for multiple sites
• Assisting with the preparation of accurate monthly site valuations (CVR’s)

Daily Duties:

• Weekly & fortnightly payments of direct & subcontractor labour only trades
• Analyse sub-contractor invoices/applications
• Monthly sub-contractor payments
• Keep Payment Record Sheets up-to-date following completion of each payment run
• Prepare monthly cost / value reconciliations
• Prepare sub-contractor procurement tender list for sign off by QSM & Operations /Production Directors
• Prepare tender documents/packs and send out to the relevant sub-contractors
• Analyse tenders upon return
• Undertake tender analysis by evaluating tenders and comparing the prices against each other, previous developments, and the site budget
• Carry out pre-order meetings with sub-contractors

Skills, Qualifications & Experience Required:

• Previous experience of Eque 2 Housebuilding or COINS software is desirable but not a must have
• Bsc Hons Degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction related degree
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Hold a valid and appropriate CSCS card or commit to obtaining one
• Previous experience in a similar position working on residential projects within the new build housing sector is a must
• Must be self-motivated and very organised with the ability to operate efficiently with minimal supervision
