Job summary

Sewell Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial and contractual aspects across a range of projects in Hull. You will handle costs from pre-construction through final accounts, ensuring compliance and client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate will have NEC/JCT experience, a professional QS qualification, and a UK driving licence. The role requires collaboration with the project team and a proactive approach to delivering high-quality construction works.

Qualifications

• Experience with NEC and JCT contracts.
• Hold a professional qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience across health and education markets, including refurbishments and new builds.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Develop a detailed understanding of client requirements and contractual obligations, flag risks to the bid team.
• Undertake high-level cost planning and pre-construction estimates.
• Manage procurement schedules to ensure visibility and timely procurement across all projects.
• Prepare robust tender documents and subcontract enquiries, including local supply chain commitments.
• Undertake due diligence on supply chain members per governance procedures and ensure suitability.
• Negotiate and procure sub-contract works and manage cost to final accounts, including variations.
• Develop and implement suitable contracts with clients and supply chain.
• Ensure contract administration throughout project lifecycle to protect the business.
• Prepare and submit project valuations and final accounts, including pricing and variations.
• Produce monthly commercial CVRs and cash flow forecasts and monitor risks.
