Job summary

Sewell Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to manage commercial and contractual aspects of projects ranging from £200k to £10m. The role is based primarily on site at Calder House, Elland with regional travel and standard hours of 42 per week.

Reporting to the Managing Surveyor and Contracts Manager, you will drive cost development, procurements, tendering, valuations and final accounts while ensuring NEC/JCT contract compliance and client satisfaction across a portfolio of projects.

Qualifications

• Experience across health and education markets (refurbishment and new build).
• Strong knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication with clients and subcontractors.
• Proactive and flexible attitude to learning and progression.

Responsibilities

• Develop client requirements and advise risks to the bid team.
• Undertake high level cost planning and estimates in pre-construction.
• Manage procurement schedules for visibility and on-time delivery.
• Prepare robust tender documents and subcontract enquiries.
• Due diligence of supply chain members per governance.
• Develop contracts with client and supply chain.
• Administer contracts through lifecycle to protect the business.
• Prepare valuations and final accounts; price variations.
• Provide monthly CVRs, cash flow and profit forecasting.
• Identify risks and opportunities; implement mitigations.
