Mechanical Quantity Surveyor

Location: Maidstone

Salary: £60,000 to £67,000 depending on experience + £5,200 pa Car Allowance

This role involves preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for mechanical construction projects by analyzing project plans, specifications, and documentation, with site visits if necessary.

Your Role:

1. Review project plans, analyze drawings, schematics, specifications, and documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
2. Calculate costs, determine quantities and costs of materials, equipment, and labor required.
3. Prepare and submit detailed estimates and bids for projects.
4. Prepare and submit PQQ and ITT documentation.
5. Coordinate with engineers, contractors, manufacturers, and clients to understand project scope and requirements.
6. Identify potential financial or operational risks and strategize mitigation.
7. Maintain detailed records of estimation documentation and update as needed.
8. Negotiate with suppliers and manufacturers for the best prices.
9. Stay updated with industry techniques, materials, and costs to ensure accurate estimates.

Your Skills:

• Proven experience as an estimator or similar role (minimum 2 years)
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems and engineering principles
• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
• Proficient in CRM software
• Relevant higher qualification or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• Attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Experience or qualification in CAD is preferred
• Experience with SimPro is beneficial

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm.
