Tarmac Trading Limited is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (Maternity Cover) to support projects across the South West & South Wales region. This role can be based in Kington, Hendy or Stancombe locations and is commutable from Bristol, Miskin, Pontyclun, Cardiff, Newport and surrounding areas.

The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying (or HND/experience) with NEC contract experience, strong numeracy, and excellent communication skills. Travel between sites will be required.

Competenze

• Educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying; HND or QBE considered as alternative.
• Passion for safety and strong numeracy/analytical ability.
• Experience with NEC forms of contract and commercial awareness.
• Drive, ambition, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel between sites and work both independently and in a team.
• Strong IT skills on spreadsheets and databases; able to adapt to bespoke software.

Mansioni

• Record, monitor and review the financial performance of contracts.
• Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment and final accounts.
• Prepare monthly CVRs and forecasts (internal and client-facing).
• Secure payments from customers within contract terms.
• Procurement and management of subcontractors and their accounts.
• Ensure compliance with processes to mitigate commercial risk.
• Issue early warning notices and manage compensation events.

This role is commutable from Bristol, Miskin, Pontyclun, Cardiff, Newport and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you'll ideally bring experience from similar sectors such as Highways, Road Infrastructure, Paving, Surfacing, or Civil Engineering.

Key responsibilities for the role of Quantity Surveyor (Maternity Cover) will include:

Recording, monitoring and reviewing the financial performance of contractsPreparing and submitting monthly applications for payment and final accounts.Preparation of monthly CVRs and forecasts (internal and client-facing)Securing?payments from customers within the specified contract termsSubcontract procurement and management of subcontractor accountsEnsuring compliance with Tarmac and client processes to mitigate commercial riskIssuing early warning notices and managing compensation events

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the role of Quantity Surveyor (Maternity Cover) will be educated to degree level in Quantity Surveying, but we also welcome candidates with HND or those qualified by experience (QBE).

Suitable candidates for the role of Quantity Surveyor (Maternity Cover) will also have:
