Job summary

Kier Group in Rainham, Essex is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join the L&Q Major Works Investment Programme. You will manage the commercial performance, procure and appoint contractors, and support robust tender processes to maximise gross margin.

You will work with internal and external teams, build strong relationships and monitor risks while delivering projects within delegated authorities and timeframes.

Qualifications

• Clear communication with multidisciplinary teams, client teams and sub-contractors
• Experience in a similar Quantity Surveyor role
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
• Experience with IT packages including MS Office and bespoke software

Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and financial performance of assigned projects to maximise gross margin
• Appoint contractors and subcontractors and place orders for materials and plant
• Measure and value work to support invoicing and payments
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, contractors and subcontractors
• Identify contractual and commercial risks and propose mitigation actions
