Job summary

RGB Recruitment Ltd in Devon is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established main contractor in the Southwest. You will take ownership of your projects and drive commercial performance through pre-construction to final account.

The role covers managing budgets, cost reports, valuations, subcontractor procurement and ensuring contractual compliance across sectors such as Education and Leisure, with project values up to £20m-£30m.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Quantity Surveyor for a main contractor.

Responsibilities

• Managing the commercial and financial performance of construction projects.
• Preparing accurate cost reports, forecasts and cost value reconciliations.
• Managing project budgets, expenditure and cash flow.
• Procuring and appointing subcontractors in line with project and contractual requirements.
• Managing subcontractor accounts, including valuations, payments and commercial queries.
• Preparing and submitting applications for payment and ensuring effective cash recovery.
• Identifying and agreeing variations, compensation events, claims and additional payments.
• Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and other stakeholders on commercial matters.
• Supporting the commercial development and contractual awareness of colleagues within the wider project team.
• Managing the commercial close-out of projects, including final accounts and the accurate allocation of costs and value.
