Job summary

Zinc Consult is recruiting a permanent Quantity Surveyor to join our Glasgow team, working on infrastructure and construction projects for a range of clients. You will provide commercial and cost management support from pre-contract through to final account, with real scope to grow your career with a respected commercial consultancy.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor on infrastructure, civils or construction projects.
• Working knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 and/or JCT contracts.
• Strong measurement, valuation and cost reporting skills.
• Good communication and negotiation skills.
• Right to work in the UK and a full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost plans, estimates, bills of quantities and tender documentation
• Manage subcontract and supply chain procurement, tender evaluation and award
• Carry out valuations, applications for payment and cost value reconciliations (CVR)
• Prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts
• Assess, price and negotiate variations, change and compensation events
• Support the preparation and agreement of final accounts
• Administer contracts under NEC and JCT forms
• Work closely with project managers, engineers and clients to protect value and manage commercial risk
