This is an excellent opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor with infrastructure experience who is looking to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across sectors including Highways, Rail, Water, Utilities and Major Infrastructure.

Unlike many roles that can limit you to a single sector or client, this position offers genuine variety, with projects ranging from major national infrastructure programmes through to regional transport and local authority schemes. The business is experiencing continued growth and has a strong pipeline of work, particularly across the Water and Rail sectors.

The Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the delivery of both pre and post-contract commercial services across a range of infrastructure projects, working alongside experienced commercial professionals and project teams.

Responsibilities will include:
  • Cost planning and cost management
  • NEC contract administration
  • Managing compensation events and change control
  • Commercial reporting and forecasting
  • Procurement support
  • Valuations and payment assessments
  • Client and stakeholder engagement
  • Supporting successful project delivery from inception through to completion
What We're Looking For

My client is keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Previous Quantity Surveying experience within an infrastructure environment
  • NEC contract experience (NEC3 or NEC4)
  • Experience gained within a consultancy, contractor or client-side organisation
  • Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently and manage their own workload
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Experience within sectors such as Highways, Rail, Water, Utilities or wider Infrastructure would be highly beneficial.
Why Consider This Opportunity?

The business has built an excellent reputation for employee retention and offers a genuinely flexible and supportive working environment.

Benefits include:
  • Salary up to £50,000
  • Hybrid working arrangements
  • Competitive pension scheme (Up to 10% employer contribution with 5% from employee)
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Fully funded professional development and training
  • Support towards chartership
  • Exposure to a broad range of projects and sectors
  • Strong work-life balance with no micromanagement culture
Location

The role is based in Plymouth with a hybrid working model. Candidates should ideally be within commuting distance of the office, although those considering relocation may also be considered.
